Mexican Border

From 1981 to 2009 I had made several trips to the cities that are located along the border of Mexico. Some of these I made with people I knew and some on my own.

I was drawn to the way of life and the people who were friendlier in the earlier years of my travel there. These days with the excessive violence and dominance of drug cartels I find it hard to imagine myself being back there to photograph, or for the peace of mind and friendliness that I experienced with the people from these towns and cities.

The following series depict the lives that were once existent without the heavy influence of the ravishing drug cartel and the impotent war on drugs waged by the United States politicians and other government agencies.
